DefenderofBrady:
The Supreme Court already said you don't have that right in the Baldwin decision.
I'll repeat myself since you didn't seem to grasp the concept the first time. A supreme court ruling will never take away my right to keep and bear arms any more than it will take away my right to be Catholic. Our rights are not given to us by the supreme court.
defenderofbrady:
And I have rights to life and happiness. So these rights should be protected from people with guns. If I get shot I won't be very happy and I might even die and that would violate my rights.
Lets analize this little piece of stupidity for a moment, shall we. First of all you do not have a right to happiness, but lets pretend for a moment that you and every person has the "right to be happy". Owning firearms makes me happy so you can't restrict that, cats make me unhappy (allergy) so we'll have to outlaw those, green shirts make me happy but I hate yellow ones so we must outlaw yellow fabric. Do you see where I am going with this, what makes one person happy often is contradictory to what makes another happy, so your "right to happiness" could never possibly work.
defenderofbrady:
In other countries people don't get shot as much so their rights are more protected. So we need to have more gun control like they do.
Wrong, in countries with gun bans and such they are restricting peoples right to keep and bear arms not protecting it. As I have said the right to keep and bear arms is just that, a right, a human right. No different than freedom of religion. When you try to tell a person you cannot own a gun, or you cannot be Jewish you are violating their rights.
When you advocate for things like gun bans you are advocating for the restriction of peoples rights, its no different than if you were advocating for a ban on minorities voting. Put simply, you have no right to restrict the rights of others.
