But it is only hypoocritial if you look at it from a very blinkered view.

YOu say, they dont want guns, but have bodyguards with guns, ie a they dont want but have type situation.

But that does not take into account any other information, like why these people feel they need to have guns, as i have explained.

Ok we can talk about that. Understand that I cannot answer every response you have. I don't have that much time to devote. So even though I read them all, I only respond to only a few. I'm not ignoring them.

The big thing that does piss off gun owners is that non-sense of yes I have bodyguards and armed while I propose you don't have a gun. That is elitism plain and simple. Being originally from Massachusetts, I have seen my full share of that elitism. Many of these elitists are more racist than many of the southern rednecks down south. Trust me on this. At least the southern rednecks tell you up front while these elitists will smile in your face and talk behind your back.

But you did bring up a good point though. I don't think anyone on this board has ever used their gun for self-defense or they would have said they did. I can tell you honestly I haven't. But I will also tell you I didn't buy my weapons for personal protection either. I bought my weapons for target shooting.

The only thing I kill is paper. But personal protection does come into play with it, and it does feel good to have a weapon or moreover the know how to properly defend myself, with or without a gun.

Now I have two conceal carry licenses. But I use them as more of ID and a personal statement than anything. I haven't used them in any way as of yet. Plus I'll tell you carrying a gun everywhere you go does become tiring and the gun becomes more of a pain in the @#%$. Especially for a situation that may or may not happen. This is why I stress martial arts training, even though I have a gun. Martial Arts training you can take with you and isn't banned. The only time is was ever banned in this country was when some slaves would practice Capoera and the masters quickly banned the practice of the art. For some trivia, that is why the art has the music and dance aspect to it, was because slaves disguised it to fool their masters.

I cannot tell you why other feel the need to have a gun. maybe you can ask that in it's own posting and check the responses. but I have told you mine.

One question that does bother me though is why do anti-gunners not promote any form of Self-Defense. That really does bother me.

SHIDOSHI BUD MALMSTROM: Thoughts on Ninpo

The last video SHIDOSHI BUD MALMSTROM does mention that he trains with unarmed combat but also with armed combat. He says it so well. Anti-gunners want civilians to go backwards while many real shooters do not limit themselves to just guns or just unarmed combat, but embrace all aspects of self defense and combat.
