July 14, 2007 - Community and religious leaders marched on a west suburban gun shop Saturday in an effort to stop the violence.
Reverend Jesse Jackson helped organized a rally outside Suburban Sporting Goods Guns and Ammo in Melrose Park. It was the second rally at the shop this month.
The Rainbow PUSH coalition says the shop has been cited in a study by the Americans for Gun Safety Foundation. The shop has allegedly sold more than 700 guns linked to crimes.
Saturday's march is part of an ongoing effort to fight the illegal spread of guns and hold shop owners accountable.
"They could buy 500 guns and sell them from the back of their car to kids to teenagers. So, we want to change the gun culture by convincing people not to buy them, but more on that, to make it more difficult to sell them without accountability," said Rev. Jackson.
ABC7 Chicago contacted the gun shop Saturday, but employees did not want to comment on the march.

my thoughts and comments
Looking at Jessie's statements he is trying to discourage gun ownership, look at the statements I bolded. It is also obvious to me that the media isn't interested in hearing from law-abiding gun owners. They are very interested in keeping things the same.
From what I see things will stay the same without any change and this battle isn't about guns or "assault weapons" or 50 caliber weapons. This battle from what I see is about political power.
The anti-gun movement wants to keep gun owners as invisible men. They are very happy that Suburban keeps silent. By keeping silent and not talking to the reporters, they solidify their guilt in the media's eyes.
What do you think the uninformed will think:
That Suburban isn't guilty !!
By not talking wen reporters get on camera is like saying you are guilty. Rainbow Push will love that. I'm here to tell you all once again. YOUR WALKING RIGHT INTO THE ANTI-GUNNERS TRAP.
By NOT DEFENDING YOURSELVES, you are letting Rainbow Push bully gun dealers and gun owners. When you see your gun rights taken away don't start protesting then because it would be too late. REMEMBER THE BRITISH I think you guys need to watch the NRA video they had about the British confiscation.
